How do I grant Accessibility permission?

expand_more

QUICOPY requires two permissions to function:

1

Accessibility: Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility, then toggle on QUICOPY.

2

Automation: When you first use a shortcut, macOS will ask you to allow QUICOPY to control System Events. Click "OK" to enable text pasting.

The app will guide you through Accessibility setup on first launch. The Automation prompt appears automatically the first time you trigger a shortcut.

Why does QUICOPY need these permissions?

check_circle

Accessibility — Used to detect your global keyboard shortcuts. Without this, QUICOPY cannot listen for your configured hotkeys.

Automation (System Events) — Used to simulate a paste action (⌘V) in other applications. Without this, QUICOPY can only copy text to the clipboard but cannot auto-paste.

lock QUICOPY does not monitor, record, or log your keystrokes. These permissions are used solely for the app's core functionality.

warning

My shortcuts are not working. What should I do?

expand_more

Try these troubleshooting steps:

1

Check that Accessibility permission is enabled in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility

2

Check that Automation permission is granted — go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Automation and ensure QUICOPY has access to System Events

3

Try removing and re-adding QUICOPY from the Accessibility list

4

Restart QUICOPY from the menu bar (Quit > Reopen)

5

Ensure your shortcuts don't conflict with system or other app shortcuts

info Note: If text is copied to the clipboard but not automatically pasted, this means Automation permission is missing. You can manually press ⌘V to paste, or grant Automation permission for full auto-paste functionality.

If you enable iCloud Sync (off by default, available for Pro users), your data is also synced across your devices via Apple's iCloud. This data is encrypted and managed entirely by Apple — we have no access to it. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the app's preferences.
